Hi! Anna (I write as A.E. Snow) here. I’ve read so many great books lately that I just want to shout about them from the rooftops. So here’s my rooftop 😀

Love Warrior – Glennon Doyle Melton

Love Warrior is a memoir about marriage and doing what we are supposed to do. After Glennon discovered her husband’s infidelity, she began a journey of healing and self-discovery. I gobbled this book up in one day. No matter your situation, Love Warrior has lessons on love, addiction, anxiety, God, and marriage that everyone should hear. It’s not an easy read but it is well worth getting on the roller coaster of emotions that make up this book. It is Oprah’s newest book club pick for a reason!

Sex Object – Jessica Valenti

I keep finding myself reading feminist essays and memoirs and this one is no different. But it’s about much more than that. It’s the story of Jessica making her way in the world, finding love and partnership, and having a baby with serious medial concerns. I didn’t expect to cry reading this, but I totally did. The author’s experiences with sexism will resonate with all women. It made me feel angry and fired up, but contemplative about my own experiences as well. This book is probably not for everyone, but if feminism is important to you, then there is much here to chew on.

The Nest – Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney

Wow. I loved this book. I finished it almost two weeks ago and I can’t stop thinking about it. In my humble opinion, that is what makes a great book. I listened to this one and was unable to put it down. It follows the Plum family who find out their inheritance, on which they are all depending, is gutted when their big brother is in a scandalous accident. The four siblings attempt to move on with their lives without the inheritance they’d been counting on and what follows is a stellar debut filled with complicated characters that you will love to hate. And hate to love.

My Lady Jane – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

What a fun book! My Lady Jane is the fictionalized account of Lady Jane Grey who found herself queen for a few days after the death of her cousin, King Edward. What’s so fun about this book? You’ll have to read it to find out. I loved when the narrators would sneak their own quite funny thoughts into the text. It was very fun and had a Princess Bridey vibe about it. If you like light fantasy, humor, and YA, this books is for you.

Beyond the Friend Zone – None other than the Writing Wenches themselves!

I have to include this book which was released earlier this month. This anthology was such fun to write and collaborate on. I always love working with the Writing Wenches and this was no exception. Each story chronicles a shift from friends to lovers in each relationship. We have sexy stories, sweet stories, and everything in between including a war story. There is something for everyone here. And here’s the buy link in case you feel inspired to buy it and you should. 😉 Buy Beyond the Friend Zone here!
